Railways Recruitment Board exams are one of the most sought-after exams in the country. Every year, millions of Indians apply for the Railway jobs across the 21 area wise zones that have been set up by the Railway Recruitment Control Board to vie for the wide array of jobs on offer.
Over the years, multiple changes have happened in the exam pattern of RRB and that means the test-takers have to up the ante in terms of preparation and time commitment required to clear the exams. That being said, we decided to create some tips that RRB hopefuls can use, irrespective of the zones they come from.
Prepare yourself for every step of the selection procedure
The entrance happens on the basis of 5 different steps that you need to keep in mind.
- RRB Online Test
- Skill Test
- Interview
- Document verification
- Medical Fitness test
These steps, especially the first 3, can be extremely gruelling for the test-takers and you have to prepare carefully for each level. The online test has increasingly added new components and has become more complex over the years. Therefore, preparing for the online exam is the very step that every hopeful has to take.
Check out the entire syllabus
General Awareness: Students should be updated with all the current affairs and general knowledge topics. However, they should also remember that you can not prepare for every topic over here, and therefore they should limit the amount of time they spend on this section
Arithmetic: This section is very scoring since the only concern with this section is practice. Hard work and lots of practice means that this section can make or break the entire exam for you, and it should be treated as the most important section by everyone
Technical: This section includes questions from technical courses which students opted for. Here, it would show how much a particular student has been sincere in their undergrad subjects and how easily they can revise the concept and then appear for the exam and score well
Reasoning: Students should practice this section in time bound conditions. Since this section has a huge syllabus for students so students should go according to syllabus while preparing and practicing RRB mock test. Once again, just like the General Knowledge section, this section has unlimited number of data points and problems that can be solved. So, students should focus on solving few questions of every type, practice mocks and then move on to the other sections.
