UPSC declared the MAINS result for the year 2018. You can download the PDF file given at the bottom. UPSC Civil Services Main exam was conducted from 28th September 2018 – 07th October 2018. According to one estimate around 15,000 candidates usually appear for IAS Main exam. In 2018 10,468 students appeared in the Mains examination and 1,994 students could successfully cleared it. We have also mentioned cut off marks category-wise of previous UPSC Pre, Mains examinations in the later part of the article.

This year Mains result came little bit late in comparison to the last year (2017). Last year the gap between the Pre and Main examinations was of 68 days whereas this year the gap is of 74 days. Point to be noted here that the UPSC interview will start from 4th Feb, 2019 so successful candidates have only 46 days left to face as many mock interviews as they can and enhance their communication skills.

If you are very new to UPSC preparation-journey then you should know that this exam is conducted in three phases :-

1. Prelims
2. Mains
3. Interview

Almost 7 to 10 lac students appear for the IAS Prelims examination and after scrutiny merely 10 to 15 thousand students appear for Mains examination. Students are selected on category-wise cut-off basis in both Pre and Mains examination. Here, by categories we mean > General, OBC, SC/ST and PH categories.

If you have given Prelims exam this year and you were waiting for UPSC Mains result then you have two options to find your UPSC Mains 2018 results > Roll number wise and Name wise. You will find only roll numbers. By chance, if you lost your roll number and admit card and you don’t know your roll number then you can recover it from official website. You can check your result from the official website as well that is upsc.gov.in
